AhlulBayt News Agency: At least seven Lebanese civilians were injured on Saturday when an Israeli drone strike targeted the main square of Beit Lif town, located in the Bint Jbeil district of southern Lebanon, near the border with 1948 occupied Palestine.
According to the Lebanese News Agency, the attack involved two missiles fired by an Israeli drone at the center of the town.
Initial reports confirmed casualties, later verified by the Lebanese Ministry of Health, which stated that “seven civilians were wounded, including individuals inside a civilian vehicle at the time of the strike”.
The assault marks another breach of the ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel that came into effect on November 27, 2024. Despite the truce, Israel has conducted repeated cross-border operations and drone attacks, according to Lebanese officials.
In a related incident, an Israeli drone dropped a stun bomb in the Hura area between Kafr Kila and Deir Mimas, marking the second such attack in 24 hours.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that a local resident narrowly escaped injury during the attack.
Lebanese authorities say that since the ceasefire began, Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have committed around 3,000 violations, claiming the lives of at least 213 people and injuring 508 others.
Although a partial Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon has taken place, IOF troops continue to occupy five strategic Lebanese hills seized during the 2024 escalation.
The current conflict began with Israel’s aggression on Lebanon on October 8, 2023, and escalated into a full-scale war by September 23, 2024, resulting in over 4,000 deaths and nearly 17,000 injuries, according to official Lebanese estimates.
